This study examined water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) conditions in Kitui County, Kenya, revealing significant challenges due to water shortages and poor sanitation. Many residents rely on rivers for water, with over half walking more than 2 km to access it, and nearly 44% reporting insufficient water supply. With low latrine coverage (56.4%) and continued open defecation (8.5%), the study emphasizes the need to scale up WASH interventions to meet national standards.
