This study explored the link between chronic inflammation and hypertension (HTN) among HIV-positive individuals in Tanzania, where 43% of participants had HTN, with higher prevalence among women (70%) and those over 55 (77%). Elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) levels were significantly associated with HTN, while other inflammatory markers showed positive but non-significant associations. The findings highlight the need for increased awareness, education, and screening for HTN among HIV patients in high-burden regions.
