In this study, the REACH-AYA digital survey app was developed and tested to assess protective and risk behaviors among young people (YP) aged 10–24 in Nairobi, Kenya. Using a five-step user-inclusive design process, the app featured 98 questions on behavioral and psychosocial factors, with respondent-driven sampling used for recruitment. The pilot study reached 1101 YP via social media, with 887 completing the survey, demonstrating the potential of digital tools for engaging hard-to-reach populations.
